The petitioner, who is the husband of the complainant in this
case, seeks concession of anticipatory bail in FIR No. 36 dated 18.03.2016
registered under Sections 406, 498A, 494, 506, 120B IPC at Police Station
Lopoke, Amritsar, District Amritsar.
Interim relief was afforded to the petitioner by this Court vide
order dated 04.08.2016. This matter was placed before the Mediation and
Conciliation Centre of this Court to explore the possibility of an amicable
resolution of the entire dispute between the parties. However, mediation
was not successful. It was brought to the notice of this Court on 13.07.2017
that the petitioner did not join proceedings after 23.03.2017 and an
apprehension was expressed by learned counsel for the complainant that the
petitioner has in fact left the Country. Learned counsel for the petitioner on
13.07.2017 informed that he is unable to contact his client and
did not have any instructions in the matter. Learned counsel for the State

was directed to verify the averment regarding the petitioner having left the

Singh, informs that the whereabouts of the petitioner are not known and he
could not be traced out.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, this
petition is dismissed.
