The Cantonments Act,2006

Section 293. Stacking or collecting inflammable materials

A Board may, by a public notice, prohibit in any case where such prohibition appears to it to be necessary for the prevention of danger to life or property, the stacking or collecting of wood, dry grass, straw or other inflammable materials, or the placing of mats or thatched huts or the lighting of fires in any place in the cantonment, or within any limits therein, which may be specified in the notice: Provided that Chief Executive Officer may, in case of imminent danger to public life or property, enforce such prohibition in consultation with the President or the Vice- President in the absence of the President.
