The bill removes from the Crimes Act the statutory defence of “reasonable force” to correct a child, meaning there will be no justification for the use of force for that purpose.

This opens up the government going in and taking kids away and also assuring in custody battles that each side will claim the other hit the child, and thus means the mothers getting the child even more often, as the father will be claimed to be, disciplining against the law.
