Rules for Members asking to lawyer services.
1. Member must understand and agree to the condition that there can not be any guarantee of results.
2. Member must pay charges in advance to lawyer directly or thru group as the rule may be.
3. Member must not accept any thing free from lawyer. Be it smallest thing like judicial stamp / checking website for status of date. Every thing MAY be payable.
4. Once agreed there should not be any complaint regarding amount they paid / comparison for cheaper legal services. If member feels so, he may exercise his freedom to hire another lawyer rather than having a bad mouth.
Rules for Lawyer
1. Lawyer should charge on Hour basis. In my belief Rs. 250 to 500 is reasonable charge for average lawyer depending on size of town / city. For filing fresh petition / counter petition etc.
2. For sundry work like checking status of case, dates, getting true copy of cases, etc he may charge Rs. 100 – 400 per request + out of pocket expenses he may have to pay.
3. For appearing in HC / appeal / arguement / cross examinations his charges should be atleast 1.5 times than base rate. It could be even higher as it is higher grade of work.
Yesterday I went to court and checked rates for different type of lawyers. Every one asked for big sum for Anticipatory bail.. No one quoted me less than 10k per person for AB, higest was Rs. 40k
For regular bail I got quotes of Rs. 5000 to 15000 per person. In Ahmedabad
Actually there is no tradition for adv fee in various matters.Adv decide the fee dependent on party s financial status & severity of the case. The only thumb rule is, how much U can be extracted financially. In case of females there r certain other factors.
