      Hello,

      My wife and child visited her parents in india and soon stopped talking to me. They did not pick my phone, no responses. Suddenly she alledge mental torture and we received a notice few days back. There are all lies in the notice and fabrications. They are demanding damages and compensation for the 2 yr stay of her with me saying she was mentally tortured. They have levelled baseless allegations that is shameful. The compensation is ridiculous that even after working for 10yrs from today I cannot pay. I and my family are already sick and are in great distress.

      What are my options of fighting back? Any advise from you gurus? Can we ask them to prove the allegations? How does court respond to these cases?

      Where are you located;

      Notice from whom Lawyer or court. and who received notice, as you sound like you are not in India.

      what do you mean by damages and compensation ? or you mean to say maintenance ?

      Thanks for your response.

      I am in USA. The notice is from court and every one in my family are listed as parties. I haven’t received it but it has been stated that it was sent to USA. The notice says they are demanding damages and compensation. They have asked for unimaginable amount that I cannot make in my life time.

      Any help in USA? in india?

      let us know indian city too. so we can guide you relatives.

      if she was not styed with your relatives then they can appeal in HC to remove their names from case.

      you have to act fast.
