Hi, I am a software engineer working in a reputed media company. I am putting up at Ghaziabad. On November 6, 2009 I was engaged to a girl residing at vijaynagar, Ghaziabad. Right after the ceremony, while going back to home from their place, we came to know that the girl is characterless and has escaped from home several times. On further investigation, we found the thing correct. So we told them to break the relation. But they filed the case for demand of dowry under section 3/4, dowry act against us. They also claimed a very large amount having been spent for the arrangement of marriage as well as in the engagement. Due to this, I had to escape from house with my family to save ourselves from the police. Now, my family have got the bail. But I have still not got the bail and I have to hide myself. Now those people are demanding an amount of Rs 1 lakh from us to compromise through the police. I talked at my office but they did not help me at all. Please help me.

      Thanks,

      Sandeep

      Dear Sandeep,

It is a very sad and deplorable situation that you are in and I can feel your pain. If your family has been able to get bail, then 75% of your tension is over. Your bail matter is also just a question of time and nothing else. So don’t loose heart and have patience.

Sometimes, bail matters take time to sort out and loosing bail in the Sessions is no reason to loose heart. Apply in the High Court. Please remember that the quality of your lawyer is very important in such matters. A friend of mine gave me very sensible advise for my cases. He said “always hire the best lawyer that you can afford. A good lawyer is the crucial difference when it comes to winning or loosing a case”.

Hope things work out real fast for you.

      Dear Sandeep,

I have gone through your matter, you don’t worry, you apply for anticipatory bail by engaging a lawyer. Your problem will be solved.
