Tangy Brinjal Chutney (Pulupu Vankayi Pachadi )


1 large brinjal
chopped into small pieces
2 dry red chillies
2 green chillis
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp tamarind pulp
6-7 flakes garlic
10 curry leaves
1 tsp mustard seeds
Oil, Salt


1.Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds,and let them splutter.Add garlic,red and green chillis and fry for 30 seconds.
2.Now add the chopped brinjals.Cook till soft. Cool.Grind to a paste adding salt and tamarind.
3.Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds and let them splutter.Add curry leaves.
4.Add the seasoning to the brinjal paste and serve hot with hot steaming rice./chapatti.
