The petitioners seek anticipatory bail in connection
with Pandaveswar P.S. Case No. 128 dated 06/12/2017
under Sections 498A/323/406/307/506/120B of the Indian
Penal Code read with Sections 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition
Act.
The petitioners are the close relatives of the husband
of the de facto complainant and claim not to have been
involved in the marital life of the couple.
The State says that there is no report of any injury,
but the de facto complainant suffered a miscarriage. On a
query from the court, the State reveals that some of the
articles given by way of dowry or at the time of marriage have
been returned or seized by the police.
Considering the extent of the petitioners’ involvement
in the matter, they may be granted anticipatory bail, subject
to the condition that they do not attempt to contact the de
