CRR 620 of 2019
(Durjoy Acharya @ Durjoy Acharjee vs. State of W.B. anr.)
Mr. Debabrata Das Gupta
…………. for the Petitioner
Ms. Ayantika Roy
………… for the State
This is application for speedy disposal of a proceeding in which a charge
sheet has been submitted under Sections 498A and 406 of the Indian Penal Code.
Let a copy of this application be served upon the learned Advocate who
is present in Court today and who ordinarily appears on behalf of State. Her
engagement be regularized by the competent authority of the State in due course.
The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as
follows. An F.I.R. was lodged in this case on 08.11.2017 and a charge sheet was
submitted on 10.01.2018. On 13.02.2019, charges were framed under Sections 406
and 498A of the Indian Penal Code and a date was fixed for evidence on 10.04.2019.
I have heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing on behalf
of the petitioner as well as the State and have perused the revision petition.
I do not think there is any delay caused in the impugned proceedings.
After submission of the charge sheet, the matter was dealt with by the learned court
below in due course.
Therefore, I do not think that there is any need to pass a direction for
speedy disposal of the proceeding.
Accordingly, the revisional application is dismissed.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the
parties expeditiously, if applied for.
