Date of decision : May 03, 2018
Gurdeep Singh …..Petitioner
State of Punjab and another ….Respondents
CORAM:- HON’BLE MRS. JUSTICE LISA GILL
Present: Mr. Ashish Aggarwal, Advocate
for the petitioner.
LISA GILL, J.
Prayer in this petition is for quashing of FIR No. 44 dated
15.06.2015 under Sections 498A, 406 IPC registered at Police Station
Women, District Amritsar City alongwith consequential proceedings arising
Learned counsel for the petitioner, at this stage, does not press
this petition. It is, however, submitted that no efforts for mediation were
ever made between the parties. The petitioner is ready and willing for an
amicable resolution of the dispute with his wife – respondent No. 2.
Keeping in view the stand of the petitioner, present petition is
dismissed as withdrawn. However, in case, such a request for mediation or
an amicable resolution of the dispute is addressed before the learned trial
Court, this Court is sanguine that necessary steps in this regard would be
taken by the learned trial Court.
