In the matter of: Kanchan Shit Ors.

….petitioners.

Mr. Sudip Kushari
…for the petitioners.

Ms. Sukanya Bhattacharyya
Mr. Mirza Firoj Ahmed Begg
…for the State.

The petitioners seek anticipatory bail in connection with

Kharagpur (Local) P.S. Case No. 302 of 2018 dated 09/06/2018

under Sections 498A/302/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioners are the relatives of the husband of the

victim who, apparently, committed suicide. The petitioners

claim that there was a minor tiff with the husband following

which the wife took the extreme step of hanging herself.

The State says that the charge is that the victim was

by hanging and there does not appear to be such external

injuries as would lead to the inhabitable inference that the

victim may have been left to hang.

Considering the available records, it is not necessary to

subject these petitioners to custodial interrogation.

Accordingly, in the event of arrest, the petitioners are

directed to be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of

Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, with two

sureties of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only) each, one
