CRR 514 of 2019
Ct. No. 29
In the matter of:- Rajib Maji Ors. …petitioners
Mr. Supriyo Das.
…for the petitioners.
Ms. Debjani Sahu
…for the State.
This is an application praying for expeditious disposal of a
proceeding in which a charge sheet has been submitted under Sections
498A, 323, 506 and 34 of the Penal Code and sections 3 and 4 of the
Dowry Prohibition Act.
Let a copy of this application be served upon Ms. Debjani Sahu,
learned Advocate who is present in Court today and who ordinarily appears
on behalf of the State. Her engagement may be regularised by the
competent authority of the State in due course.
The learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioners
submits as follows. In this case the First Information Report was lodged on
13th August, 2013 and a charge sheet was submitted on 5th October, 2013.
Till date out of twelve witnesses, even the examination-in-chief of one
witness i.e. PW1 could not be completed. Long dates are being fixed in this
case and the next date for hearing has been fixed on 16th November, 2019.
The proceedings have dragged on for no fault on the part of the petitioners.
I have heard the submissions of the learned Advocates appearing
on behalf of the petitioners and the State and have perused the revision
petition.
I do not think any prejudice will be caused to anyone if an order is
passed directing an expeditious disposal of the proceeding.
In the interest of justice, I direct the learned Trial Court to
conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any
unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties, preferably within a period of
one year from this date.

The revisional application is disposed of.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to
the parties expeditiously, if applied for.
