The petitioner being the de facto complainant of G.R. Case
No.288 of 2017 arising out of Durgapur P.S. Case No.15 of 2017 dated
July 22, 2017 under sections 498A/380/506/354B/120B IPC and
under sections 3/ 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 pending before
the court the learned Judicial Magistrate, 4th Court, Durgapur has
prayed for a direction upon the Magistrate for expeditious disposal of
the case pending before him.
Mr Rana Mukherjee, learned Additional Public Prosecutor,
appearing for the State has submitted that he has received a copy of
the application from the petitioner.
The opposite parties no.2-9 are the in-laws of the petitioner and
are accused in the case pending before the learned Magistrate.
It appears from the order sheet that the charge against the
opposite parties no.2-9 has been framed, and that March 22, 2019 is
the next date of recording evidence.
The prosecution is directed to see that the trial of the case may
be completed within a period of two years from the date of
communication of this order. Learned Magistrate is requested not to
grant any unnecessary adjournment to either of the prosecution or
With the aforesaid directions, the application is disposed of.
The petitioner is directed to communicate the gist of this order
to the private parties no.2-9.
Certified website copy of this order, if applied for, shall be given
to the parties after observing all formalities.
