The petitioners undertake to affirm and stamp the petition as per the Rules within 48 hours of
resumption of normal functioning of the court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of
The petitioners are parents-in-law of the victim. The petitioners say that the Statement under Section
164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the victim’s minor child indicates that it was the husband of the victim
who shot her.
Considering the age of the petitioners and the extent of the petitioners’ involved in the unnatural death
of the victim, the custodial interrogation of the petitioners may not be necessary as long as the petitioners
cooperate with the investigation and report to the investigating officer as and when called.
Accordingly, in the event of arrest, the petitioners should be released on bail upon furnishing a bond
of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) each, and producing a personal release bond of equivalent value to
the satisfaction of the arresting officer.
The petitioners should comply with the conditions laid down in sub-section (2) of Section 438 of the
Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
