The writ petitioner claims to be a senior citizen who is being harassed by
his second son. The second son, however, does not reside in the same premises
with his father. The petitioner is also residing in the premises with his daughter-
in-law and middle son.

On complaints filed by the petitioner it appears on the basis of records
produced by the learned advocate for the State respondents that one prosecution
case and two other F.I.R.s with the Bhaktinagar Police Station.

The Officer-in-Charge, Ashighar Out Post under Bhaktinagar Police
Station, Siliguri is hereby directed to pursue the F.I.Rs and prosecution case and
take appropriate steps to complete the proceedings and take it to its logical
conclusion. The Officer-in-Charge shall also ensure that the writ petitioner and
his family who are residing with him are not disturbed by the respondent no. 5,
Supriya Banerjee. It is further submitted by the State respondent that the
respondent no. 5 has been enlarged on bail on a criminal case under 498A of the
Indian Penal Code filed at the instance of the writ petitioner’s widowed daughter-
in-law.

The report of the Commissioner of Police, Siliguri may be kept with the
record. It is expected that the proceedings shall be completed as expeditiously as
possible but not later than a period of six months.

W.P. No.18035(W) of 2017 is hereby disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be given to
the parties as expeditiously as possible on compliance of all necessary
formalities.
