C.R.M. 12338 of 2019

In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code
of Criminal Procedure filed on 23.12.2019 in connection with
Duttapukur Police Station Case No. 806 of 2019 dated 28.10.2019
under Sections 498A/Section326/Section307/Section34 of the Indian Penal Code.

In Re : Chandan Das ….. petitioner

Ms. S. Sultana
… for the petitioner

Mr. Saibal Bapuli, learned A.P.P.

… for the State

Statement of the victim under Section 164 of the Code of

Criminal Procedure has been placed on record.

Having considered the materials on record including the

statement of the victim implicating the petitioner in setting the housewife

on fire which is corroborated by medical records, we are of the opinion

that in view of gravity of the offence this is not a fit case to grant

anticipatory bail.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected.
