The present petition has been filed against the order dated
23.02.2018 passed by the District Judge, Jhajjar through which the
petitioner was directed to pay an amount of Rs.10,000/- per month as
maintenance pendente lite to the respondent from the date of application
along with one time litigation expenses of Rs.5,500/-.
Admittedly, the petitioner is an MBA and was working as Sr.
Practitioner-CRM Operator with Concentrix Daksh Services India Pvt. Ltd.
and while working as such, was receiving monthly salary of Rs.37,499/-.
Learned counsel for the petitioner on instructions from the petitioner has
fairly submitted that the petitioner is also owner in possession of a small
tract of agricultural land and is receiving income from the same.
The petitioner claims is that he is presently unemployed.
However, nothing is placed on the record to show whether presently he is
unemployed or employed.
In the peculiar facts of the present case, this Court is of the
view that the award of Rs.10,000/- as maintenance pendente lite to the

respondent-wife is not on the higher side, especially, when such amount is
close to the minimum wages required to be paid to skilled workers. Rather,
litigation expenses of Rs.5,500/- so awarded, are found to be on the lower
side. However, without further commenting on the same, the present
petition is dismissed.
