Bankers Book Evidence Act



1. Title and extent –



(1) This Act may be called THE BANBKER’S BOOKS EVIDENCE ACT, 1891.


(2) It extends to 2the whole of India 3[except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.]4[***] 5[***]



1. This Act has been extended to Pondicherry by Act 26 of 1968, sec. 3 and Sch.


2. Subs. by A.O. 1950, for “all the provinces of India ”.


3. Subs. by Act 3 of 1951, sec. 3 and Sch., for “except Part B States”.


4. The word “and” rep. by Act 10 of 1914.


5. Sub-section (3) rep. by Act 10 of 1914.
