6. Appeals against orders of competent authority –

 

(1) Any person aggrieved by an order of the competent authority under section 5 may, within thirty days of the date of receipt of the order by him, file an appeal to the prescribed authority in such form and containing such particulars as may be prescribed.

 

(2) On receipt of an appeal under sub-section (1), the prescribed authority shall, after giving the appellant an opportunity of being heard in the matter, dispose of the appeal as expeditiously as possibly.

 

(3) Every order made by the prescribed authority in appeal under this section shall be final.

 

COMMENTS:

 

Section 6 confers a privilege, a claim and a power. The privilege is that of appeal, if any person is aggrieved by an order of Competent Authority under Section 5. This appeal can be filed within thirty days of the date of receipt of the order by him (Clause (II) The claim is conferred by clause (2) of Section 6. The claim relates to the opportunity of being heard in the matter before the authority. The Power is of making the order. The nature of the order being that once made it is final.
