The State Bank of India Act,1955

Section 48. Power to remove difficulties

The Central Government may, for the purpose of removing any difficulties, particularly in relation to transition from the provisions of the Imperial bank of India Act,1920 (47 of 1920), to the provisions of this Act, by order, direct that this Act shall, during such period as may be specified in such order, have effect subject to such adaptations, whether by way of modification, addition or omission, as it may deem expedient:

Provided that no such order shall be made after the expiry of one year from the appointed day.
