Section 54. Penalty for selling or delivering rejected weights and measures
Whoever sells, delivers or disposes of, or causes to be sold, delivered or disposed of, an weight or measure which has been rejected on verification under this Act Or the Standards Act, or any rule made under either of the said Acts, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with imprisonment for a term fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both:
Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to the sale, as scrap, of any rejected weight or measure which has been defaced in the prescribed manner
