The Textiles Committee Act,1963
Section 3. Establishment of Textiles Committee
(1) The Central Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, establish with effect from such date as may be specified in the notification, a Committee to be known as the Textiles Committee, which shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal with power to acquire, hold and dispose of property and to contract and may, by that name, sue or be sued.
(2) The Head Office of the Committee shall be in Bombay.
(3) The Committee shall consist of-
(a) A Chairman to be appointed by the Central Government;
(b) A Vice-Chairman who shall be the Textile Commissioner, ex officio;
(c) A Joint Secretary to the Government of India to be appointed by the Central Government, ex officio;
(d) Such other members as the Central Government may think fit to appoint who, in the opinion of that Government, have special knowledge or practical experience in matters relating to the textile industry and trade and the manufacture of textile machinery.
