Home remedies for Pregnant Women Cold

Cold remedies during pregnancy Drinking plenty of fluids such as lemon juice and honey in warm water and hot soups will help relieve some of the symptoms like a sore throat. Gargling with salt water also helps ease the pain in the throat. Drinking hot ginger tea and warm milk with turmeric are also natural remedies that can be safely used by pregnant women.

A very effective remedy for curing cold is lemon, it is a natural and rich source of vitamin C. Lemon juice increases body resistance, decreases toxicity. Take one lemon in 1 glass warm water add a teaspoon honey and take this mixture twice in a day.

Another remedy for treating cold and cough is garlic soup. Garlic soup is made by boiling three or four cloves of chopped garlic in one cup of water and take it once in a day. Garlic oil is also effective in the treatment of cold. Onion juice and five drops of garlic oil mix it in a cup of water, and take this remedy thrice in a day.

Ginger is also very effective in the treatment of cold and cough. Take one cup of water and around 10 gram ginger cutted in small piece, boil this mixture and add one spoon sugar in it & take it when it is hot. Tea with ginger is also very effective for cold and fever.

A very excellent home remedy for the treatment of cold and cough. Mix 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda in 8 ounces of warm water. Use a bulb syringe to squirt water into the nose. Hold one nostril closed by applying light finger pressure while squirting the salt mixture into the other nostril. Let it drain. Repeat two to three times, then treat the other nostril.

Gargling can moisten a sore throat and bring temporary relief. Try half a teaspoon of salt dissolved in 8 ounces warm water, four times daily. To reduce the tickle in your throat, try an astringent gargle — such as tea that contains tannin — to tighten the membranes. Or use a thick, viscous gargle made with honey, popular in folk medicine. Seep one tablespoon of raspberry leaves or lemon juice in two cups of hot water; mix with one teaspoon of honey. Let the mixture cool to room temperature before gargling.

Gently Blow your nose regularly when you have a cold rather than sniffling mucus back into your head.

Olive leaf extract is good as a natural antibiotic for viral infections.

Covering a cold sore with petroleum jelly will speed healing and help protect it from secondary infection with bacteria.

Cut garlic in half and place one part on the cold sore. Take 2 garlic capsules a day.

Rub ice on the infected skin for few minutes, repeat this every hour.

Simply rub aloe juice directly onto the infected area for some fast relief. Aloe gels can also be used instead of fresh aloe juice.

Use Echinacea and goldenseal extract mixture. Take one dropper-full a day for no more than 3 days. Also put a few drops on a cotton ball and place on the affected area for a few minutes several times a day.

Dip your moist index finger in powdered common salt and press the sore for 30 seconds using this index finger

Red grapes should be taken to fight cold sores effectively.

Lemon Balm can be applied topically in cream form. Or brew as a tea lemon balm can be taken internally as it has antiviral qualities.

Eat Infection-Fighting Foods : Foods to eat when you’re battling a cold or flu:

Bananas: Soothe upset stomachs.
Bell Peppers: Loaded with vitamin C.
Blueberries: Curbs diarrhea, high in natural aspirin. (May lower fevers and help with the aches and pains.)
Carrots: Loaded with beta-carotene.
Chili Peppers: Can open sinuses, and help break up mucus in the lungs.
Cranberries: Help prevent bacteria from sticking to cells lining the bladder and urinary tract.
Mustard & Horseradish: Helps break up mucus in air passages.
Onion: Has phytochemicals purported to help the body clear bronchitis and other infections.
Rice: Curbs diarrhea.
Tea: Black and green tea (not herbals) contain catechin, a phytochemical purported to have natural antibiotic and anti-diarrhea effects.
