75-100 Clams
For Masala
10-15 red chillies
2 tbsp. Coriander seeds
1 tsp. jeera
6. peppercorns
7-8 flakes garlic
A pinch of turmeric powder
1 piece tamarind (size of its seed)
1 Small coconut, grated
2 big onions, chopped
½ coconut, grated to Roast
Oil or Ghee for frying
1 Small onion
4-5 Curry leaves
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 cups water
Salt to taste
Method.
Wash all clams, take a Vessel add all clams and water till all sink boil it for 10 minutes or so or till most of the clams openup. do not keep more water.
Remove empty shells and unopened clams
Grind Masala dry.
in Dry pan roast ½ grated coconut,till it little brown, and give away nice smell and set it aside.
in a Vessel (earthern pot is better) take little oil, when its hot fry onion till it little brown,add mustard seeds, curry leaves. when it give nice aroma add grounded masala and fry for a while.
Add Clams, add required water if its too dry. Keep it on low flame for 5 minutes, add Roasted coconut and salt.
