The petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.112 dated 20.9.2014,

under Sections 498A/406 IPC registered at Police Station Sarai Amanat

Khan, District Amritsar, on the basis of compromise (Annexure P-2) having

been effected amongst the parties.

Vide order dated 21.2.2018, the parties were directed to appear

before the Illaqa Magistrate to get their statements recorded in respect of

alleged compromise. Report of JMIC, Tarn Taran has been received

wherein it has been reported that the statements of the complainant Jatinder

Kaur, accused – Sukhjinderpal Singh, Gurpreet Kaur and Daljit Kaur have

been recorded. Even the statement of S.I. Baljinder Singh, SHO had been

recorded. The complainant Jatinder Kaur stated that the matter stands

resolved and that she is presently residing with the accused Sukhjinderpal

Singh in her matrimonial home. She has further stated that the compromise

is genuine and is without any pressure or coercion or any undue influence

and that she has no objection, if the FIR is quashed. The JMIC, Tarn Taran

in her report has also opined that the compromise appears to be genuine.

In view of the aforesaid position, especially, the fact that the

complainant has started residing with her husband, I am satisfied that the

matter has been amicably resolved. Accordingly the petition is accepted

and the FIR and all consequent proceedings are hereby quashed.
